  • James and Natalie Thomas

    Co-Hosts for Bedtime Chapel

    James is the Director of Emergency Communications for the town of Falmouth, he also serves as Diocesan Disaster Preparedness and Response Coordinator. Natalie works for Building for Mission, a consulting firm that focuses on developing people-centered structures and strategies with a racial equity lens. Natalie serves on a working group of the Racial Justice Commission and as a facilitator for mission-driven parish retreats.

  • The. Rev. Dr. Ted Cole

    Bible Study Guest in Epiphany 2025 - Featured on Episodes 081, 089, 097

    Ted is an Episcopal priest, husband, and father of two boys.  He is on an intentional faith journey with Christ that began in his preteen years, with a wide array of influences on his formation, from 1980’s televangelists to Jesuit spirituality to Episcopal parish community and worship. 

    Ted especially reflects on the connection between the church and the home and the church and the world.  He has extensive experience  as a family and youth minister in his 20 year career as a priest.  He is trained in dream work as a spiritual practice and provides training for forming church dream groups.  He holds a Ph.D. in the philosophy of religion from Boston University, with a focus on mystical experiences in cross-cultural perspective.

  • Gary Commins

    Gary Commins is a retired Episcopal priest who served in urban, suburban, bilingual, multicultural, and historically Black congregations, often transitioning aging parishes into younger, more diverse ones while working to create new community ministries. He received an honorary doctorate in 2001. His most recent book is Evil and the Problem of Jesus.

  • Canon J. Sierra-Reyes

    Bible Study Guest in Epiphany 2025 - Featured on Episodes 049, 057, 065, 073.

    The Rev. Canon J. Sierra Reyes serves as the Canon to the Ordinary for the Episcopal Diocese of California, acting as chief of staff and assisting the Bishop in supporting clergy and congregations throughout the Bay Area. Previously, she served as Canon for Ministry in the Diocese of Chicago, where she oversaw pastoral transitions and supported clergy.

    Sierra graduated with high honors from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia, and earned her MDiv from Harvard Divinity School. Her formation for ministry included coursework at Episcopal Divinity School, Cambridge, and a year of study at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.

    Prior to diocesan roles, Sierra served as Associate Rector of Christ Church Episcopal in Savannah, Georgia and Rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Denver, Colorado. Sierra is married to Dr. Rudolph Reyes, a seminary professor. They live in the Bay Area with their daughter, age 8

    The Rev. Aaron and Elizabeth Ross are parents to two vibrant and clever children. Together they delight in sharing the story of Christ through contemplative prayer and engaging rituals with their children and neighbors. Aaron is a transitional Deacon in the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts with a Masters of Divinity, as well as a Chaplain Candidate in the U.S. Army Reserves. Elizabeth is a spiritual director and writer with a Masters in Religion

  • Bird Treacy

    Bird Treacy is a Godly Play Trainer, Episcopal church lady, church programming consultant, and writer based in the greater Boston area. Prior to finding her way to professional work in the church, Bird earned a masters degree in Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies with an emphasis on Disability Studies from Emory University, and she brings both an academic lens and a lived experience of disabled identity to her current work. When not wranging small humans or developing programming, you can usually find Bird cooking, writing, competing in jigsaw puzzle competitions, making lace, or doing some other craft project. She lives with her wife, a current veterinary student, and their five cats.
